Three Killed, Eight Injured In Accident On Taconic State Parkway

New York State Police responded to a four-car collision on the southbound side of the Taconic State Parkway, just north of Baldwin Road, at 2:50 p.m. Saturday.

Police say one person was critically injured. The cars crashed in the Southbound lanes, striking three other cars.

The names of the three people who died in the crash were not disclosed by investigators. Five others was said to be in stable condition at that hospital and two others were treated and released from Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Police did not identify the victims, pending notification of next of kin.

The Taconic State Parkway southbound lanes in the area of the accident remained closed until approximately 9 p.m. Saturday.

“You could see the mangled bodies in the car”, the witness said.

Investigators from the State Police Reconstruction Unit were still investigating.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
