Three killed, four wounded in western New York shooting

Rochester Police Chief Mike Ciminelli also says the shooting at this point does not appear to be directly related to the basketball game.

Three people were killed and four injured in a drive-by shooting outside a Boys and Girls Club in western New York on Wednesday.

A large crowd gathered in the early morning hours Thursday near the scene of the shooting. However, police have not released ages or identities for any of the victims.

Dotson said four guns, including the handgun wielded by the dead suspect, and crack cocaine were recovered at or near the home, which last year yielded illegal guns during a police search. “We intend to find out who did it and bring them to justice”.

Police say there had not been any problems reported at the game prior to the shooting.

He told the Democrat and Chronicle he couldn’t recall a shooting in the city with seven victims – counting the wounded and deceased – for the decades he has been on the force.

Police initially set up a mobile command unit in the parking lot in front of Wilson Magnet High School, across the street from the scene.
