Three killed in crossbow attack in Toronto, say Canada police

Three people were killed in an attack Thursday involving a crossbow, Toronto police said.

However, police believed the victims suffered from crossbow bolts, as they found the evidence a crossbow lying nearby.

“Indications were that (a) person had been stabbed – their injuries were fairly serious”, Const. David Hopkinson said.

Police say a man has been taken into custody. He was dubbed the “Fake Beard Bandit” after a disguise he wore. The neighbour ran across the street and found another man lying in the driveway, covered in blood.

– In July, a Mission, B.C., father was charged with attacking his son who was shot in the forearm with a crossbow. The relationship between the accused and the three victims two men and a woman is not known.

But the Toronto couple’s wedding plans unravelled Thursday when Ryan, 35, was arrested for the grisly slayings of a woman and two men at a home on Lawndale Rd.in Scarborough.

Immediately after the bodies were discovered, police cordoned off a wide area around the small bungalow, in a normally quiet neighbourhood near Kingston and Mason Rds.

About four hours after the incident, police said there was a link between the deaths and a suspicious package found in downtown Toronto.

When officers arrived at the home in Scarborough, they found two people without vital signs.

He heard one voice say “calm down” then not long afterwards heard screaming. That man was among the three people who died at the scene.

Ryan was also listed as living at the address of the crime scene when he filed for bankruptcy in 2010, City News reported.

He received a sentence of life in prison after being convicted of unpremeditated murder.
