Sunday’s early morning raid at the Irish office in the Rio Olympic Village saw the passports of three Irish Olympic officials seized, and also netted Olympics tickets, phones and computers, Irish officials said.

They were met by OCI personnel.
Its president, Pat Hickey, already stood down from his position temporarily after being arrested by the city’s civil police on allegations of ticket touting, establishing a cartel and illicit marketing is now being held in Rio’s notorious Bangu prison.
Then the Olympic Council says it will hire an worldwide accountancy firm to conduct an independent review of ticketing arrangements.
They were later released on condition they do not leave their hotels while local authorities continue their investigations into a ticket scandal linked to the OCI, insidethegames has been told. The police also took possession of these tickets, according to an OCI press statement.
The OCI is to appoint an global accountancy firm to conduct an independent review of ticketing arrangements in Rio, with the report given to the judge.
The investigation has been ongoing for almost the full duration of the Rio Olympics, with the first arrests made two weeks ago.
The 71-year-old is held in a Rio prison, pending formal charges.
Mr Sherlock added: “This meeting is to find out what the present situation is as far as the OCI is concerned”.
Another unbelievable twist in the Olympics ticketing scandal.. As well as confiscating their passports and electronic devices, investigators also took unused tickets belonging to the OCI.
Hickey, an IOC member, head of the Olympic Council of Ireland and the European Olympic Committees, was detained Wednesday and is accused of involvement in a ticket scam, ambush marketing and conspiracy over the sale of Rio Olympics tickets at inflated prices.
The raid comes days after the arrest of senior Olympic official Pat Hickey. THG Sports director Kevin Mallon was arrested earlier in August in Brazil.
Brazilian police have said that they’re hoping to seize the passports of three other people with links to the OCI.
