The past week has been the deadliest of the outburst thus far.

Palestine’s Ma’an news agency said on Monday that a man was shot dead by Israeli forces after he reportedly stabbed and killed a settler on Route 443 which runs from north of the occupied city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) to the city of Ramallah.

The official referenced the recent spike in Palestinian violence against Israelis.

An Israeli woman has died after being stabbed in the West Bank – the latest victim in two months of such attacks.

“We are going everywhere”.

Last month, a U.S. State Department spokesman said that while Israel had a right and responsibility to protect its citizens, he cited reports “of what many would consider excessive use of force”.

Demonstrators carried various signs demanding a return to security on roads, posters of Rabbi Litman and his son’s face alongside the slogan “The Nation of Israel Will Win”, and placards saying “We’re exhausted of being targets”.

Israel says the current spate of violence is due to a Palestinian campaign of lies and incitement surrounding the holy site, which is revered by Muslims and Jews.

Police said both attackers were in their teens; information on their conditions was not immediately available.

The Palestinian leadership also condemned the attacks in Paris, as well as twin bombings in Beirut on Thursday that killed 47 and were attributed to Islamic State assailants.

Eighteen Israelis have been killed, a lot of them in stabbing attacks, while 88 Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli security forces, either in response to alleged attacks, or during demonstrations or clashes. Roughly half of them have been alleged attackers. He said the same stabber also lightly wounded two women nearby.

One of the attackers was killed, while the other was seriously wounded, she said.

In an earlier attack, the military said a woman pulled out a knife at the entrance to a military base and began approaching civilians.

Mahane Yehuda is Jerusalem’s best known market and is a popular tourist attraction. Armed fighters from the al-Aqsa martyrs’ brigades, linked to president Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah, with which one of those killed was affiliated, joined the crowd.
