Three seriously injured in coach crash

Greyhound is confirming one of its Kamloops-to-Prince George buses has crashed on Highway 97 this morning.

Greyhound Canada senior vice president Stuart Kendrick, who is in Toronto, said he’s trying to get further details.

At least nine people have been injured in a bus crash near Hixon, three have been sent to hospital in serious condition. “All of them were taken to the hospital”.

A RCMP traffic service analyst, an accident reconstruction expert and a commercial-vehicle safety inspector are investigating the cause of the crash.

“A lot of times in the wintertime you do find black ice, ” he said.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours but has since re-opened to single lane alternating traffic.

There was snow on Highway 97 when a Greyhound bus crashed this morning, according to a nearby webcam.

In all he says there are nine patients but mostly he says, the injuries are minor…
