Metropolitan Police have asked members of the public to remain calm as they revealed that they are treating the attack in Leytonstone Underground Station as a terrorist incident.

“We treat as a terrorist incident”, said Richard Walton, head of the London anti-terrorist forces.

One man had serious knife injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening and two other people had minor injuries, police said.

A man in a knife attack has been injured severely in a London subway station, two other people were slightly injured. The man was arrested after police discharged a Taser which stuns suspects.

Such apparently random attacks are extremely hard to thwart because they require relatively little planning and very basic equipment.

The suspect was taken to a London police station.

Witness Michael Garcia, 24, said he saw a man threatening commuters with a 3-inch (7.5cm) knife – purportedly after he had stabbed one of the victims.

The attack comes less than 24 hours after Britain announced it performed its second round of bombings on ISIS oil fields in Syria.

The attack took place in the ticket hall at Leytonstone station.

One man at the scene shouted: “You ain’t no Muslim, bruv”.

In the video the cops were yelling at the man asking him to drop the knife before tasering him. “After good 10-15 police came and got the guy and arrested him”. This is mainly due to the threat the authorities say is posed by Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq and their encouragement of supporters to carry out attacks in their homelands.

There has been severe disruption to the Central Line on the Tube since the attack.

Prime Minister David Cameron’s office said it was “monitoring the situation closely as further details emerge”.

Like several other great cities of the northern hemisphere, London has not been immune from terror attacks and has long faced the problem of the radicalisation of disaffected youth all too ready to commit sickening acts of violence under the pretence of righteousness.
