Thunder rip Lakers, home streak now 8
The Los Angeles Lakers are a long way from being the dominant juggernaut that we have all been accustomed to seeing in the past few decades.

Kobe Bryant isn’t concerned how he fits in with the greatest of all times.
Inhibited by injuries in recent seasons, Bryant is now suffering with a sore right shoulder, and his performances have not been up the standard his fans have grown accustomed to during his stellar career. Westbrook scored just 13 points but managed a double-double (11 assists) against the young LA guards, while Durant poured in 22 points on 13 shots.
Garrett Temple scored a career-high 21 points, Jared Dudley added 19 and Marcin Gortat had 18 for the Wizards (11-14).
Oklahoma City rested its starters in the fourth quarter and the Lakers were unable to do anything against the Thunder reserves. Although he recorded his eighth double-double of the season, it would have been nice to see Howard score more than 16 points against the Lakers. Why? It just doesn’t seem right for him to be on the Western Conference’s roster based on his production this year. “Being assured that there is a light at the end of the tunnel by guys that have gone through it and that are champions, you can always hold on to that if you continue to work on your craft and practice hard, compete, there’s going to come a time when you get over that hump”.
With Bryant out, the Lakers started seldom-used rookie Anthony Brown in his place. Julius Randle struggled against OKC, going 1 for 7 with 2 points but getting 7 rebounds in 26 minutes. Los Angeles defenders looked helpless trying to defend Durant, and he along with Russell Westbrook pretty much had their way throughout the entire game.
Indeed, Drexler was picked ahead of Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Garnett, among others.
The Thunder were up 35-15 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Also playing well was Steven Adams, who made all four of his shots and finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. Meanwhile, the Lakers threw five passes out of bounds, and the Thunder led 67-41 at halftime.
Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr. watches as Thunder’s Kevin Durant dunks during first half of Oklahoma City’s 118-78 win.
“He kind of shocked me when he told me”, said Lakers coach Byron Scott, Bryant’s teammate during the 1996-97 season. “Come out ready and focus on what we need to focus on and do our job”.

“My body has been through a lot, physically, its been through a lot, and then on top of the fact that it is very easy to forget that I haven’t played because of it”, he said. “We have to get talent, make smart decisions and smart trades with free agent acquisitions”.
