Thunder’s Durant leaves game at Wizards with left leg injury
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will be out 7 to 10 days after straining his left hamstring Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards.

On Wednesday, the Thunder announced that Durant underwent an MRI, which confirmed he has a strained left hamstring.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of the Thunder’s win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. While there is not much pressure at this point yet, fans and followers of the Durant-Westbrook team are starting to wonder whether or not the Oklahoma City Thunder squad could be considered a contender team this National Basketball Association season – that is if Donovan made good on his promise.
That said, Durant would immediately jump aboard as the face of the franchise and primary scoring option of the team. It’s my part of the game where I have to rebound and take that challenge.
“Whenever I feel right, whenever I feel ready to play again, that’s when I’ll play”, Durant said. But that has nothing to do with how Washington has given up 113 or more points in five of seven games on the season, going 2-3 in those games.
With Bradley Beal missing the game due to a shoulder injury sustained against the Hawks last Saturday, Towson alum Gary Neal got the start and helped weather the storm early with eight points in the first quarter.

A shift to a more up-tempo offense and the corresponding lineups to fit the style has surely affected the defensive performance but the decline nonetheless remains confounding for a team that returned every significant contributor from last season besides two defensive liabilities – Paul Pierce and Kevin Seraphin. So far, Morey has not let a single trade deadline pass without making at least one move on that day, but it isn’t just shuffling players you’ve never heard of for picks or trade exemptions. “So we got to get our bigs back into the paint and form a wall”. “You lose a couple of key guys to your team, and you still got guys who can play and win a game”. Except then they started booing when Durant got the ball, for a few reason. Leave it up to fate to decide if Durant will play in D.C. next year. All OKC off the bench players scored in this one led by Dion Waiters, who ended up with a game-high 25 points on 7-of-10 field goals in just 25 minutes.
