Thunder send guard Luke Ridnour to Toronto for Zubcic

Ridnour was reunited with the Thunder- technically the team that drafted him – for less than five full days before he was traded on June 30, this time to the Toronto Raptors.

Other team’s Ridnour has been a part of this past month include the Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies, and Charlotte Hornets. The Thunder will receive a $2.85 million trade exception in exchange for Ridnour.

And now he’s on the move again. One day later, the Grizzlies sent him to the Charlotte Hornets in return for Matt Barnes. Ridnour is in the second year of a two-year deal, but his salary of $2.75 million for the 2015-16 season is not guaranteed if he’s waived on or before July 10.

There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and Luke Ridnour being traded.

Ridnour now heads to a Toronto team in need of a third (or perhaps second) guard-assuming Lou Williams leaves in free agency, and Delon Wright is not quite ready yet to be the full-time backup.

Zubcic was drafted by Toronto in 2012, but has not played in the NBA and is not likely to play for the Thunder.

The 12-year veteran averaged a career-low 14.5 minutes and four points and two assists last season. The native of Croatia spent last season playing for Cedebita Zagreb in the Croatian League.
