When asked whether Durant’s minutes would be managed as part of easing him back into action, Presti said, “That’s something [head coach] Billy [Donovan] and Kevin and our medical team will work on”. Appearing on ESPN radio’s Freddie Coleman Show, Green singled out Thunder superstar forward Kevin Durant.
That’s good news for the Thunder, who just missed the playoffs last season without their franchise player. Training camp begins next week.
Thunder General Manager Sam Presti made the announcement during his annual “State of the Thunder” address before training camp.
This is some welcome news for the Thunder, as many thought that the foot injury last season could linger into this year if Durant did not recover enough by September. He had surgery in October and returned to play in December with some pain. “Knowing that the future is coming, we’re incredibly excited about that because it’s an opportunity for us to keep him in Oklahoma City: a Hall of Fame player, a legacy player, I should say a legacy person, in Oklahoma”. In terms of limitations, he doesnt have any.
Despite being limited to just 27 games last season, Durant, a six-time All-Star, averaged 25.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Kevin Durant is healthy and back as a full participant in Oklahoma City Thunder training camp.
Durant is entering the final season of a five-year extension he signed with the Thunder in 2010.

“Average minutes – that’s probably going to be the most important thing”, Presti said.
