Thunder star Kevin Durant not rushing to decide on future

By owning the No. 3 pick in the coming NBA Draft, the Celtics will surely bring forth surprises during the draft or even when the free agency signing starts.

Getting Durant to the Lakers has more to do with their front office appeal than anything else, while a deal with the Clippers could be the sleeper move that catches the league by storm. Westbrook playfully quipped that he could average 20 assists per game.

Durant, who has spent his entire National Basketball Association career with the same club, didn’t sound like a player looking for a way out after Oklahoma City’s 55-win season. Miami Heat is always an attractive place to go because of what Pat Riley can put together, and teaming up with a rejuvenated Dwayne Wade. KD and Russ will jump at that scenario every time.

A few days ago, the Thunder had a 3-1 lead in their Western Conference Finals series against the Warriors.

Then it happened. A collapse of epic proportions.

Kevin Durant was still digesting Oklahoma City’s Western Conference finals defeat when the simmering subject of his free agent future reached full boiling point. Charles Barkley said at the half that hero ball would get them beat.

Financially, staying with the Thunder on a short-term deal makes all the sense in the world for Durant. Will Durant leave bigger money on the table by departing to sign with another team? Two players that fit this role are Bradley Beal and DeMar DeRozan.

Westbrook is under contract with the Thunder for another season, so it’s pretty obvious what he would say to Durant.

Relax, Knighton’s not a jerk, he’s giving Durant some time to cope with the conference Finals loss and everything, but after that, according to Pot Roast, it’s game on.

“One big potential strike against NY?” Enes Kanter is a nice energy guy off the bench. And even if Durant were to shrug off the seemingly insurmountable scrutiny that would come his way for joining what may be a back-to-back NBA Champion, would he be willing to head elsewhere knowing he’ll never be “the guy” in the Bay Area?

Oklahoma City finally looked like a complete team, competing immensely on each end of the court and for a majority of the time, displayed chemistry stronger than newlyweds.

But if it does comes down to Curry vs. LeBron, one of them scores in 3s and the other doesn’t. If Durant leaves, OKC is no longer a championship contender. Besides, they could still win tonight and advance to the Finals. If the Cleveland Cavaliers, who has only lost 2 games in the entire playoffs eventually win the title against the battle-weary Warriors, the argument if justified.
