Thunder staying positive heading into Game 7

A Redditor broke down some stat lines regarding Foster and the Golden State games he has officiated and found the Warriors play worse in his games. Roberson and Andre Iguodala traded baskets before Thompson banged in another 3-pointer to put the Warriors ahead 104-101. If they could hang on, the Thunder would advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012.

There were a couple of improbable 3s from Steph Curry, one last long-range blast from Thompson, Draymond Green mixing it up for an easy bucket, and a couple of free throws sprinkled in for good measure.

The only Game 7 to top Monday night’s matchup in Oakland was the 2013 NBA Finals Game 7 between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs ($1,346 per ticket).

“That’s the theme of tonight – you win, you move on; you lose, you go home”, said the Thunder superstar who is about to enter free-agency when these playoffs conclude. It’s as simple as that.

The deciding game of the Western Conference championship is, not surprisingly, a very hot ticket.

This has been about supreme talent, of course, most specifically Thompson’s singular 41-point performance in Game 6 and all the defining-moment contributions from Curry, Green and Iguodala.

“Come on, one more!”

During the regular season, fourth quarters were not always the Thunder’s happy place: they lost a league-high 14 games where they’d entered the fourth quarter holding a lead.

If the Warriors need a reminder that being at home doesn’t assure a victory, they need look no further than what they did in Oklahoma City on Saturday night.

“(Durant) has no weaknesses”, Iguodala said. “It’s going to be an electric atmosphere, and I think we’re ready for the challenge”.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 29 points but was 10 of 31 from the floor.

Curry’s 3-pointer brought the Warriors within one at 97-96. “They weren’t as aggressive as they needed to be, and they felt like that’s why they made a lot of the turnovers they made and missed a lot of the shots they made because they were just trying to hold on versus just continuing to play the way they played to get the lead”. They headed for a waiting golf cart and off they went to the interview room.

“We definitely know them a lot better than we ever did”. We as a team support and trust him, him and Russ. So we give him that freedom.

Thunder: Serge Ibaka had 12 points in the first half on 5-for-8 shooting, but he committed three fouls…. Shoot when your open, drive when you can, take advantage of mismatches, but more importantly, find the open man and get your teammates involved.

“I said from the beginning, they make shots”, said Donovan. “And that’s what happened”.

Carolina State Warriors Klay Thompson made history last night, but won’t be stopping there. Give him credit, and some of those shots were closely defended, some of those shots were from deep.

Thompson showed he’s more than just a sidekick, which makes you appreciate it even more when he stands to the side and lets Curry do his thing. Looking at the stats, I’d have to say they did. “And they made big plays”. At the other end, Thompson drew the assignment of guarding James Harden and Damian Lillard and now heading into Game 7 of the West finals, Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook.

The loss threatens the Thunder to be victims of one of a major playoff collapse.

There’s also the fact Durant and Westbrook are playing loads of minutes.

Warriors remind Thunder, and everyone else, exactly who they are
