Thunder trading Perry Jones to Celtics
According to the Boston Herald, the Celtics will receive Jones, the second-round pick and cash for a protected second-round pick and a trade exemption.

The Thunder won’t be getting anything in return, but the move appears to be simply for salary reasons.
While Perry could be signed to an extension this fall, he is expected to become a restricted free agent next summer.
Jones was set to make a little over $2 million this season and by freeing up his roster spot the Thunder now have room for 2014 first-rounder Josh Huestis. In just 43 games with Oklahoma City last season, Jones averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in almost 15 minutes per game.
For a player who was once considered a likely top-5 pick, the Celtics will not give up much of anything. They also get the chance to salvage his career as a former first-round pick who never really found a role in three years with Oklahoma City.
A versatile forward with a lot of size (he is 6-11), Jones can provide a lot of energy off the bench for the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics’ busy offseason continued Tuesday afternoon. Fans should watch a few highlights of Perry Jones III in OKC, because he might be a diamond in the rough.
