Tickets to See the Pope Run Out Within 2 Minutes
In just 30 seconds, 10 000 tickets to see Pope Francis preside over a mass in Philadelphia later this month were gone, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia said on Wednesday. Then at 8 p.m., another 10,000 tickets will be made available to the papal Mass on September 27. So I don’t know how many people may have obtained tickets through that bad site and exactly how this happened.

Free tickets to Pope Francis’ procession through Central Park on Sept 25 are being hawked online for as much as $3,000 a pair.

The Secret Service released a pedestrian map for the pope’s weekend in Philadlephia on September 2 that included a “Ticket Holders” area where the pope will lead Mass. The area stretches from North 20 Street to the back of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive.
Farrell fielded questions from local media for an hour, reflecting a growing chorus of concerns by residents and visitors over difficulty accessing the papal events.
The official World Meeting of Families merchandise pop-up shop is open for business in Center City.
Within minutes of the online frenzy for freebies, scalpers began posting Pope tickets for sale online.

The free tickets for these last events will be offered Wednesday. His statements suggest he has more liberal attitudes than his predecessors, and could be a different kind of pope presiding over a different kind of Catholic church.
