Tide add ex-USC coach Sarkisian to staff

What is scary for the rest of college football is that Alabama did not play their best game.

Just don’t ask Saban what the quarterback plans are moving forward for the defending national champion Tide. That’s the only decision we made. “That’s the only decision made”.

Saban said he first discussed with Sarkisian about joining Alabama’s staff “quite a while ago”. So I’m not speculating on what we’re going to do in the future. Sarkisian later that season arrived for team meetings one Sunday unable to work, prompting USC to place him on leave and later fire him. USC punter Chris Tilbey bobbled the snap on the ensuing drive to set up Alabama at the Trojans 15 and lead to a 7-yard run by Hurts, who later added a 6-yard score. Then coach Saban surprised alot of people by inserting Jalen Hurts on Alabama’s third possession. So it’s now. I think the focus for our team, our quarterback and everybody else, needs to be on improvement.

Alabama gained 12 yards on 10 plays in the first quarter, and trailed 3-0 before Hurts overcame the fumble to account for four touchdowns. The Irish (0-1) sent the game into overtime when Jarron Jones blocked Texas’ Trent Domingue’s extra-point kick attempt after a 19-yard touchdown run by D’Onta Foreman and it was returned 88 yards for a two points by Shaun Crawford.

“He had the hiccup at the beginning, bit it was his first game, he turned the page and got back on it”, Stewart said of the young quarterback. The Tide was leading 45-6 with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation, when Barnett fired a 45-yard touchdown pass to Gehrig Dieter. There is so much depth at wide receiver on this team, I think there will be more games this season where someone besides Ridley steps up as the main target.

It took an entire half to get going, but the Cornhuskers eventually pulled away over the Bulldogs on Saturday night in nonconference play at Lincoln, Neb. After all, as a freshman in 2015, he led the Tide in catches and receiving yards.

Kiffin’s son, Monte, poses with the game ball, and the erstwhile USC coach hashtagged it with the exact time at which he was unceremoniously dumped.

“I told him that we’d love to have him as a part of the organization”, Saban said. We were able to do that, really to my surprise, to be honest with you. How can every guy improve?. They’ll look forward to this challenge, and we’re looking forward to seeing how we measure up. I feel like our secondary’s pretty good. “I’m talking about the kind you don’t even want to run to first base on”.

Hurts then became the primary quarterback during the most critical part of the game. USC finally managed to end the unanswered points streak with a 41-yard field goal late in the third quarter.
