Tiger found wandering loose in Conroe neighborhood

Conroe PD Animal Control officers took the tiger to their shelter where they’ll keep her for three days, officers said.

The tiger is reportedly from Atascocita, but her owners brought her to Conroe after their house flooded.

Even though tigers are generally unsafe animals, the one found in Texas is extremely docile and even licked the face of a stranger. “I felt kind of scared, because you never know what’s going to happen”.

Gessner and his girlfriend Erin Poole encountered the big cat when they were out for a walk.

Sgt. Dorcy McGinnis said that the tiger seems to be tame. In Texas, there is no state law against owning a tiger as a pet, although it is classified as a “dangerous wild animal” in the state’s Health and Safety Code. It definitely would not be appropriate here in the City of Conroe’.
