Tiger Kills Zoo Keeper As Enclosure Cleaned

Sky News noted that a police spokesperson said when the rare tiger attacked the man he was killed “virtually on the spot”.

A Sumatran tiger mauled its keeper to death this morning at a zoo in Poland’s southwestern city of Wroclaw, local police said.

His colleague, who managed to shut the gate before the animal attacked him as well, could do nothing to save the keeper, who had 20 years experience working with animals.

Radoslaw Ratajszczak, the director of the zoo, said.

This horrendous incident happened just as the Wroclaw Zoo was getting ready to host a conference of European zoo directors tomorrow. “It is the saddest day in my life”, he said. A minutes silence was observed by delegates.

Sumatran tigers are the smallest of the tiger subspecies and are found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Could it be that after being around these wild animals for such a long period of time, caution falls by the wayside?

He then ran around the enclosure before seeing her arm appear at another door as two tigers – one of them the Sumatran tiger Padang – began fighting over her body.
