Tiger Woods Plans Return to Competitive Golf in October
Prior to his return to playing golf, Woods will serve as an assistant captain on the U.S. Ryder Cup Team at the end of September.

TIGER Woods will likely make his return to competitive golf next month, the 14-time major victor revealed overnight.
He then plans to return to top flight competition at the first event of the 2016-17 PGA tour, The Safeway Open, in Napa California from October 13-16. I’m also excited to return to Turkey and Albany (Bahamas).
“My rehabilitation is to the point where I’m comfortable making plans, but I still have work to do”, Woods said in the statement. “Whether I can play depends on my continued progress and recovery”.
“Tiger Woods is arguably the best player to ever play the game based on his record”, said Jeff Sanders, executive tournament director of the Safeway Open.
This will be the third consecutive year of the PGA Tour at Silverado, which has a long history of having hosted professional tournament golf, dating to the late 1960s. Lefty wants to be there alongside the 14-time major victor when he completes his comeback. Is he the greatest player of all time? “There’s nothing wrong with his iron game”, Miller said on Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive”. I think that’ll be great motivation for him.
He then intends to travel to Turkey for the Turkish airlines Open in Antalya on November 3-6 before finishing the year at his own tournament from December 4-6. But at last weekend’s Deutsche Bank Championship, Mickelson coincidentally found himself talking about the height of Woods’ game. His last win was at the 2013 Bridgestone Invitational, which gave him 79 titles on the PGA tour. Good to see him back, good to see him healthy. He has been out for a while but it is always tough to come back, even though you are the greatest of all time.
“But there’s probably a lot of anticipation to see how the state of his game is and I’m definitely looking forward to watching those tournaments and seeing how his body holds up and how the mental side and obviously the golf side of things hold up as well”. “I’m looking forward to spending time with him at the Ryder Cup”.

When and if Woods does return, the quality of play likely will not be what it once was.
