Obama was the biggest of a number of big-name speakers Wednesday, the third day of the Democratic National Convention.

The most-tweeted moment of Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech: “A man who you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”.

“My parents, Al and Kathy, taught me about hard work, and about kindness, and, most importantly, faith”. His lack of empathy and compassion can be summed up in a phrase I suspect he’s most proud of having made famous: “You’re fired”.

In his acceptance speech, the 58-year-old senator from the battleground state of Virginia, mocked the 70-year-old reality TV star’s often cited remarks “believe me”, amid applause from the audience. There is no daylight between him and Hillary Clinton on this issue. Democrats hammered home those themes this week with an array of politicians, celebrities, gun-violence victims, law enforcement officers and activists of all races and sexual orientation. The duo vowed that their policies would would create jobs and raise wages as they cast Trump as a “You’re Fired” president. “Her speech was morning in America”.

“The Republican Convention was like a twisted and negative tour”. He described the Republican gathering as “dark and depressing”.

Except Kaine said “Pennsylvania and Iowa”.

The 2016 Democratic Party platform calls for the repealing of the Hyde Amendment, which critics say would allow for the unlimited federal funding of elective abortions for Medicaid recipients. In Philadelphia for the summer to help take care of his grandchild, Goodwin said he hopes to see Clinton and Kaine continue to draw out the contrasting visions of the two parties as they hit the road this weekend.

The convention provided hours of glowing tributes to Clinton, including deeply personal testimonials from her husband, daughter Chelsea Clinton and Obama.
