Tim Lincecum could be an Angel soon
Former Cy Young victor Tim Lincecum is close to a deal with the Angels, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, and Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

A couple of weeks ago, former San Francisco Giants ace and postseason hero Tim Lincecum held a showcase in Arizona to show potentially interested teams how he was doing physically following hip surgery from previous year. He had arthroscopic hip surgery September 3.
The Angels were forced to trade one of their minor league players last week to acquire a fifth starter to complete the rotation, making it possible Lincecum could become a starter. The Chicago White Sox were also among the teams rumored to land Lincecum.
From 2012 to 2015, Lincecum has a 39-42 record, a 4.68 ERA and a 1.402 WHIP. The Angels have lost ace Garrett Richards to Tommy John surgery, while left-hander Andrew Heaney is on the DL indefinitely and is said to have some damage to his own UCL. But, it really is not the Angels fault when you consider the number of significant elbow injuries that the team’s pitching staff has suffered in recent months.
Lincecum, known as “The Freak”, because of his lithe frame and the power he generates for a 170-pounder, has been a longtime fan favorite in the Bay Area.
Lincecum won three rings with the Giants and started Game 5 when the Giants captured the 2010 World Series.

Lincecum wrapped up a two-year, $35 million contract that paid him $18 million last year.
