Tim Sherwood: ‘I do not expect patience from fans’

Jordan Ayew was introduced into the game by manager Tim Sherwood to increase his attacking options in the second half after Marko Arnautovic had put away side Stoke City 1-0 up.

Villa have failed to win since beating promoted Bournemouth on the opening weekend and are third from bottom in the Premier League following a run of six defeats in seven matches.

Villa have endured a hard start to the campaign, lying in the relegation zone, with just four points.

Their poor sequence of results, caused Sherwood to test out a 3-5-2 formation against Stoke City, but the tactical change didn’t have the desired impact. “I, 100 per cent, understand their frustration”, said Sherwood, according to The Express. At the moment I’m still searching for that’. On Saturday against Stoke it wasn’t there. We need a few men to come out of the woodwork.

“I am starving to play – hopefully with Villa, but if not then we will have to sit down and think about it”. I get paid to do that. Unfortunately I haven’t got that luxury.

But it’s the same Tim Sherwood they were singing the name of last season.

Villa appear in deep trouble, with Sherwood admitting he is yet to establish his best XI following a summer overhaul of the squad and the damning statistics piling up.
