Tebow has notified his current employer, ESPN, of his desire to play baseball, but he will continue to fulfill his obligations to the network, ESPN.com reported.

Almost a year after Tim Tebow last appeared on an National Football League roster, the former quarterback is “actively pursuing a career in professional baseball”, his agents told ESPN.

“I am beyond impressed with Tim’s athleticism and swing and it goes without saying that he has shown a high level of discipline and strong work ethic”, Moeller said. He has been reportedly working out in Arizona with former major league catcher Chad Moeller as well as in Los Angeles to get back into baseball shape.

In his final season playing baseball in HS, Tebow was an All-State player in Florida and hit.494 while helping his team to the final four in the state playoffs. It’ll sell tickets. I just want to see what kind of player he is.

One MLB scout talked about how Tim Tebow would have gotten drafted out of high school if his heart wasn’t in playing football at the next level.

All 30 Major League Baseball teams will be invited to the workout, but the report did not state if any had accepted.

Tebow, who turns 29 on August 14, owns a 47.9 career completion percentage and has thrown for 2,422 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 35 games – 16 of which were starts. The former QB has been training for much of the past year to work on his skills as an outfielder.

“If you haven’t played baseball in probably 10 years, it won’t be easy”, said Decker, who was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008, and the Minnesota Twins in 2009. “I see bat speed and power and real baseball talent”.

Hours after news broke that Tim Tebow was focusing his professional athletic efforts on baseball, the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League put an offer on the table.

Tebow will also release a new book in October, Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms, which focuses on the many ups and downs of his career.
