Dale Guyer, who started The Guyer Institute, said the allegations against the Denver Broncos quarterback are untrue. The report alleges that Manning in 2011 received human growth hormone shipped under his wife’s name.

Mohammed Kurdi along with his wife and children are due to arrive at YVR at 11:30 am, where they will be met by his sister Tima who lives in Coquitlam.

“I’m happy to start going to school and start a new life, but (at) the same time, all the thought on the airplane, 10 hours, (I was) thinking about… the cousins”, he said through his aunt.

Ms Kurdi said that after losing his wife and children, Alan’s father had devoted his life to helping other refugees.

Tima had previously tried to sponsor Mohammed’s family to come to Canada as refugees, but the application was rejected because they lacked a key United Nations form.

Mohammed has been in Germany for more than half a year and has not seen his family, who were in Turkey, for seven months. Before flying to Canada, the family will reunite in Frankfurt, where he’ll meet his fifth and youngest child for the first time.

A tearful Tima Kurdi told media she was thankful to the worldwide community, and everyone in Canada who had helped her family make the hard journey.

Members of the Kurdi family repeatedly expressed their deep gratitude for all the work and support that went in to bringing the family to Canada and urged people to open their homes and hearts to their fellow refugees. “With the help of my brothers and the family, we’ll all get them on their feet and show them around”.

In Canada, the newly-elected Liberal government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau campaigned on the promise to resettle 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of February.

Seeing Mohammed Kurdi and his family finally walk on Canadian soil is “bittersweet”, Donnelly said, explaining that he had been working with Tima Kurdi to submit applications for both of her brothers’ families.

Tima Kurdi said it’s important that governments around the world continue to welcome refugees. “Please don’t close the door in their face”.
