“TIMBO x BABEGIRL!!!!! Sneak peak coming!!!!!!!” he captioned a photo of Aaliyah in the clouds. Famed producer Timbaland has confirmed he is preparing to release some never-before-heard material from the Try Again hitmaker.

On August 25, 2001, the plane that was carrying R&B princess Aaliyah-who, at the time, was on top of the world with her hit album Aaliyah-crashed on its way back from a music video shoot in the Bahamas. According to Complex, Timbaland has more unreleased music to come from the late singer. In April, US rapper and singer T-Pain provoked fierce controversy and polarised fans when he boldly claimed her legacy was driven by her untimely death.

Aaliyah debuted in 1994 with the album ” Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number”. Controversy has surrounded a posthumous release of her music, but Timbaland seems confident that the music will be unearthed soon.

Aaliyah was the subject of a controversial biopic in 2014, and her vocals have been used in songs by Drake (‘Enough Said’) and Chris Brown (‘Don’t Think They Know) in recent times.
