The speech is expected to be 10 minutes long, and will provide’ the sharp contrast between Republican ideas and four more years of Obama-like progressive policies, and the need for conservatives to unite around Republican candidates in advance of a critical election, ‘ according to Politico, which reported the deal was finalized Thursday.
The relationship between Ryan and Trump, as the nation’s top two Republicans, has been unusually contentious.
“I think she is actually a liberal progressive”.
Both Ryan and Trump have said they want to work to unify the party. In May, Ryan finally endorsed Trump, but he continued to have to answer for some of Trump’s bombastic remarks. “I won’t pretend otherwise”.
But Ryan has also been a vocal critic of some of Trump’s more controversial campaign trail episodes, calling his criticism of a federal judge “the textbook definition of racism” and stating his opposition to Trump’s proposal for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
Attorney General Loretta Lynch has already – because of an open, public meeting with former President Bill Clinton – recused herself from judging on the Clinton email criminality.
Ryan’s speech – which he said he is writing himself – came about after several days of discussions with the Trump campaign and the RNC, with a final agreement following Trump’s trip to Washington last week.
Ryan has said he felt obligated to support Trump as part of his role as the highest elected Republican.
