This was Team Irvin’s third straight victory in the non-conferenced era-since 2013-of the Pro Bowl.

T.Y. Hilton had one catch for 20 yards in the NFL’s all-star game in Honolulu.

It’s Team Irvin vs. Team Rice – as in Michael Irvin’s picks vs. Jerry Rice’s picks – and the offenses are off to a hot start.

FB Patrick DiMarco saw time in the second half, rushing for 15 yards on three carries.

The game’s MVP was Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who went 8-for-12 with three touchdowns in the 49-27 win for Team Irvin.

Team Irvin went for two and didn’t get it, but Sean Lee then intercepted a Manning pass. Wilson and Team Rice turned that into a touchdown pass from Wilson to Devonta Freeman. Team Irvin pretty much put the game away, when quarterback JAMEIS WINSTON found tight end DELANIE WALKER down the seam for an untouched and quick 53 yard touchdown play. When he played in the game, however, Taylor showed off a more reckless side. Murray rushed for 42 yards on nine attempts.

Bridgewater, the second quarterback to appear for Team Irwin, tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the win.

Team Irvin threw for 406 yards and seven touchdowns, while Team Rice’s trio of Eli Manning, Derek Carr and Tyrod Taylor countered with 396 yards and three touchdowns in a game dominated by big plays. He completed eight with one touchdown and three interceptions. Team Rice has arguably two of the best defensive linemen in the game as well, with Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack. Team Irvin won 49-27. Players were selected without regard to conference in voting by fans, coaches and players and later assigned to Pro Bowl teams via a fantasy football-style draft.

The only negative to the game was the injury to tight end Tyler Eifert, who left the game in a walking boot with a foot injury after injuring himself while diving for a catch. Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota, a Honolulu native, led his alma mater, Saint Louis School, onto the field during the procession and was greeted by loud cheers from the sellout crowd of 50,000. His scoring throws were a 2-yard completion to Darren Sproles in the second quarter and a lovely 50-yarder to Allen Robinson in the third quarter.
