Time to shift the Johnny Manziel focus to the field

Apparently, Johnny Football’s idea of “relaxing” and not being a distraction involves him parting and boozing it up with his buddies on back-to-back nights in Austin, Texas. I’ve been here for this event and this is what I want to talk about- the things that are really important. Before leaving for the five-day break, Manziel said he promised Pettine he wouldn’t embarrass the organization.

But with the Browns back together after some time away and readying to face the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, they could be going back to Josh McCown.

Manziel, 22, spent 10 weeks of the offseason in a treatment facility that specializes in addiction.

‘I’m going to get a chance to relax like everybody else in this locker room is’. The Browns are 2-8 this season and heading towards the bottom of the draft and if Manziel plays well, the team likely will avoid taking another first round quarterback next year. “I don’t think they’re going to have to worry about me this week”.

An Instagram photo on another account showed him at Austin’s RIO lounge and Cleveland.com confirmed that Manziel had been there Friday.

During the season, Manziel had a run-in with police after he was involved in a domestic violence dispute with his girlfriend. They still have to be asked about their conversation with him before he left for the bye, what he ended up doing, and whether or not this is a problem.

Johnny Football’s national showcase on Monday Night Football may not happen because of a video showing him enjoying the nightlife again. “It’s a little easier to handle when it’s a one-time occurrence, but when it’s repeat behavior its a concern”.

Manziel may continue progressing on the field, but this latest incident is proof he still has a ton of work to do off of it.

But an incident like this is troublesome not just because his rehab stint, but because Manziel’s struggled to keep himself out of trouble this season.

Pettine said he has seen a video that is making the rounds on social media that shows Manziel at what is said to be an Austin, Texas, nightclub with what looks like a bottle of champagne in his hand.
