Days after the almost 27-year-old mystery of what happened to Jacob Wetterling was solved, events are being scheduled to celebrate the St. Joseph boy’s life.
The Indians’ players will also be wearing the No. 11 patch. Patty Wetterling spoke with Terry James on his show previous year and revealed her hope that Jacob would be found alive.
Allen Garber, the Federal Bureau of Investigation supervisor on the case at the time, said Heinrich came to authorities’ attention early on, and they put him under surveillance for several weeks.
Jacob Wetterling asked “What did I do wrong?” as Heinrich handcuffed the boy and put him in his auto, Heinrich confessed.

Jacob was taken less than a mile from his home in St. Joseph, which is about 20 miles from Paynesville.
