In a year where Fey already was part of a comedy classic with “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and Poehler wrapped up the fantastic “Parks and Recreation”, “Sisters” doesn’t stand as high in either of their canons.
It was a blast from the past on “Saturday Night Live”, and not just because Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were back to host… but because they brought back 2008 Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, too. The reason? The 2008 Hillary was concerned that 2015 Hillary is getting cocky about her chances.
Hillary convinces her former self that this time they have the election “in the bag”, noting “Bernie Sanders is a human Birkenstock” and revealing that the leading Republican contender is Donald Trump.
They began their monologue by talking at the same time and then finishing each other’s sentences (that’s why they’re so awesome!), while wearing matching black and white dresses. Hard to think of a better holiday present than that.
Meet Your Second Wife – Game show concepts are hit or miss on Saturday Night Live, but this one was wholly original, sharp and just plain amusing.
“Mama’s got this presidency in the bag”, she said. In the video, Fey and Poehler sing an ode to their squad, which consists of childcare workers, gynecologists and a confused Amy Schumer.
Two actresses in a “40s-era lesbian movie are encouraged to give performances that are more like the ’70s-era sitcom, The Jeffersons“.
Fey and Poehler have been a winning combination for NBC before.

The Sisters stars also took their rightful place behind the Weekend Update desk alongside hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che to deliver “the final two jokes of 2015”. “I was Brinda”, laughed Fey, referring to Maya Rudolph’s nosey and nerdy character in the film.
