Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Host A Dope Saturday Night Live

In a show crackling with the sparks from two all-time SNL greats (who happen to be all-star BFFs), here are three of the night’s best moments.

Things started off rough with the political Cold Open, a GOP debate sketch which was completely forgettable, like most of the political cold opens in recent years.

The dynamic duo returned to “Saturday Night Live” to reprise their memorable characters, Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, on the show.

Fey joins the skit as Palin – bangs and blazer clad.

Comedy sisters Poehler and Fey came out wearing complimentary black and white dresses (cute) and began the monologue speaking in unison (strange) and then switched to finishing each other’s sentences (creepy).

Check out the highlights and their musical guest Bruce Springsteen below. The premise: Fey and Poehler host a game show in which unsuspecting men-current wives in the audience-are introduced to the women who will someday become their second wives. By the time Poehler, Fey, and Aidy Bryant got to their “slow-motion post-apocalyptic walk”, framed by the requisite explosions in the background, I was really hoping NBC would pick up “Dope Squad” to series.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back on SNL and it’s like they never left.

Palin and 2008 Hillary tell 2016 Hillary they’ll let her get back to her sleep-plus 2008 Hillary had to send some emails. And once again, our collective wish was granted. Oh, and Paul McCartney was there, too, because this is the holiday episode of SNL and, well, that’s just what they do. Guess we can now officially rule out another Fat Albert movie from ever happening. This musically-driven pre-taped sketch encapsulated so much about what makes Fey and Poehler so potent together. Can they host as a trio next time?
