Tina Fey and Amy Poehler make history at Creative Arts Emmys

Saturday’s winners suggest the front-runners for top awards will be HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, which earned nine Emmys Saturday; and FX’s “The People vs. O.J. Simpson”, which collected four. On Saturday, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were the first duo to win a single joint Emmy for their dual SNL hosting appearance. Hamm eventually went on to win his first ever award – Best Drama Actor – for his portrayal of Don Draper in the AMC drama series “Mad Men“. Thus, it is in the Creative Arts Emmy Award as art directors, costume designers, photographers, casting directors and other sound engineers are highlighted.

What is more incredulous is that Game of Thrones still has the chance to add to its already illustrious tally during the Primetime Emmy awards which will be held on September 18th. Nominated in the category as well were Dancing With the Stars, Grease: Live, Saturday Night Live and The Wiz Live!, which won the award.

Scolari became a contender after another nominee, Peter MacNicol of “Veep”, was found to be ineligible because he had appeared in half of the series’ episodes, more than permitted for the category.

Thrones won in categories including prosthetic make-up, period/fantasy costumes and production design.

A well-deserved win was for Diane Warren’s song “Til it Happens To You” that she wrote for the documentary about College Campus rapes called The Hunting Ground.

Comedy programming picked up plenty of love for their social and interactive experience components. Game of Thrones emerged a clear victor during this event, bagging a stunning number of awards to propel it into the top spot of all-time victor.

Congratulations Tina Fey and Amy Poehler!
