Titanfall 2: The Second Tech Test

Obtaining a Titan was previously only possible by playing objectives – now, Pilots will build up the Titan meter passively too.

Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, introduces the video game “Titanfall 2” during Electronics Arts news conference on June 12, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. The update will include huge improvements in the game’s pilot mobility, Titan meter, Titan mobility, map design and HUD.

Respawn Entertainment’s open tech test for Titanfall 2 will be back today at 9 AM PT and numerous changes that were detailed for the game’s movement (among other factors) will be included.

Respawn Entertainment responded earlier this week to some of the negative feedback from Weekend 1 of the Titanfall 2 Open Multiplayer Tech Test. Fans complained movement was too slow in this new iteration, and the ability to chain together wall-runs to fly across the map was missing.

Following yesterday’s big blog post about fan concerns and what will won’t be changed in the final game, the developer has today released a small patch to the technical test client. The recharge rate for Titans’ evasive dash is also being increased, hopefully bringing the mechs closer to the level of mobility they enjoyed in the first game.

In addition, its “bounty hunt” feature will have its “Score Limit” lowered to 5,000 from 6,000 in order to increase the amount of games won by score as opposed to measuring it by time.

Banking phases now last 45 seconds instead of a minute.

Fixed some issues with the outer deadzone on PlayStation controllers.

It was also announced that players will have the chance to earn a special callsign for launch when they play the Amped Happy Hour event on Saturday.

The Titanfall 2 beta is held only on console; you can read Respawn’s explanation for why it’s not on PC here.
