Titans add Riley to active roster, place Warmack on IR

Titans right guard Chance Warmack has officially been placed on injured reserve, the team announced on Thursday, following surgery on his right middle finger to fix a torn tendon.

“We had a long discussion with him, all of his options, and he chose to have the surgery”. Still, Warmack, the team’s starting right guard, played anyway in a 16-15 win. The coach says it’s tough to play Warmack’s position with a club on your hand, making it likely Warmack will miss the rest of the season. “So we’ll place Chance on IR”, coach Mike Mularkey said via ESPN.

But at his Monday press conference, Mularkey said a decision would have to be made on whether Warmack could play with the injury or if it would have to be surgically repaired before he could play again.

Opting for surgery leaves the Titans scrambling for a replacement at right guard.

The Wednesday injury report brings some good news for the Raiders and some bad news for the Titans. Kline was waived by the Patriots in the preseason and just joined the Titans three weeks ago. In May, the team elected not to execute its fifth-year option for 2017 that would have been worth $11.9 million. He was injured during training camp and spent the entire season on IR. Barton has spent time with the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans in his short National Football League career. As it turns out, Warmack made the decision for them.
