Titans agree to trade No. 1 overall draft pick to Rams

The Tennessee Titans agreed Thursday to trade the No. 1 overall pick in this month’s National Football League draft to the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles traded the No. 15 overall pick in this draft, two second-round picks (No. 43 overall and No. 45 overall) and a fourth-round pick (No. 114 overall).

This marks the seventh trade involving the No. 1 overall pick since 1990.

Browns Executive Vice President Sashi Brown also told Sirius XMNFL radio on Wednesday that interest in the No. 2 pick is heating up and that they’ll listen to offers over the next two weeks.

For the first time since 2004 when the New York Giants decided they wanted Eli Manning in a deal for the top selection, the first pick in the NFL Draft is involved in a trade.

Reports indicated that after getting Marcus Mariota with the second pick a year ago, and adding some pieces this offseason in free agency, the Titans would rather build the team with numerous assets, as opposed to swinging for another superstar.

The draft, which begins April 28, is littered with disappointing No. 1 overall picks, meaning the Rams’ move far from guarantees success.

The Titans will also receive the Rams’ first-round pick in 2017, along with their third-round pick in next year’s draft.

“I would say it doesn’t knock us out of any player except one”, Robinson said.

“In the end we thought it was a decision that was best for this football team”. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
