Titans QB Mariota to miss Sunday’s game
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota suffered a knee injury against the New England Patriots in Week 15.

It wouldn’t surprise us if Mettenberger started Week 17’s game against the Colts as well, but the Tennessee Titans have yet to rule Mariota out for that contest. “Again, we even had discussions yesterday about putting him back in, but wanted to be overly cautious and smart about it”.
Mularkey said Monday that Mariota will be re-evaluated after the Texans’ game with the rookie wanting to play the season finale at Indianapolis on January 3. When pressed further on identifying where the rumor came from and who the “sources” were indicating that Mariota would be out, Mularkey said “you have a real source right here”.
“We certainly will not – if we have any concerns – play him”. Obviously we can improve on those things and we’ll go from there.
Zach Mettenberger will replace Mariota in the lineup. He wants to play. Furthermore, he has shown that he can connect with players on a level that some coaches can’t and maybe an offense with wide receivers that can dominate a game could be a great place for him to land as an OC. He also had 252 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.
The Tennessee Titans are down their rookie quarterback for the rest of the season. He has, however, been sacked 38 times, tied for fourth-most in the league.

Mariota’s stats during the 12 starts during in his rookie season: 230-of-370 (62.2%) for 2,818 yards, with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His rating slipped in each of his next four starts, twice dipping below 70.
