Titans want to be careful not to overload Marcus Mariota in camp

So much for all that talk about how the quarterback might be too quiet. Fans cheered a long pass from Mariota to Justin Hunter in one drill.

Mariota said he’s up for the challenge but he’s not conceding anything as he heads into his first NFL training camp. According to Jim Wyatt (who probably knows more about the Titans than the Titans), Mariota has been named the starter. Mariota went No. 2 to the Titans.

Even though Whisenhunt is mixing some of those plays into his offense, Mariota now has to call plays in the huddle and take snaps under center.

Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter says he’s focusing only on football during training camp, referring questions about his arrest for a fight to his attorney. “He’s just grown a lot in that little time, and he’s getting better at his decision making and being really accurate with throwing the ball”.

“Whisenhunt made it very clear the competition at QB is “after Marcus”.

Marcus Mariota’s flawless character was a red flag for one NFL head coach and general manager before the NFL Draft. “Bu it’s in the system and we’ll see how it all progresses”, Whisenhunt said Thursday. He could be a Hall of Fame player if only he stole things out of a teammate’s locker.
