The Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenseman T.J. Brennan to a multi-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-1, 213 pound defenseman averaged almost a point per-game with the Toronto Maple Leaf’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies last season, according to the Flyers.
Brennan has also appeared in 45 Calder Cup Playoff contests, totaling 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. Hextall previously signed Andy Miele, Greg Carey, and Will O’Neill, whom are all standout AHL players.
Although Brennan will likely serve as a leadership piece and potential call-up depth option at the AHL level for most of the season, he does come to the Flyers organization with a bit of National Hockey League experience under his belt. He also appeared in seven games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, tallying one goal with a minue-6 rating. Over 53 games between the Sabres, Maple Leafs, and Florida Panthers, he’s put up five goals and 13 points; if the Flyers need to call him up, he’ll be a good option.

A member of the Marlies in each of the last four seasons, Carrick had 41 goals and 59 assists in 192 career AHL games. He left Moorestown High School during his senior year to begin his junior career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
