TMI? Trump reveals testosterone level in medical review

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is “in excellent physical health”, his doctor of 36 years said in a letter published Thursday. Trump is taking a cholesterol drug known by the brand name Crestor and he takes a low-dose aspirin. Clinton’s recent bout with pneumonia, diagnosed last Friday left her weakened at a 9/11 memorial event, where she appeared to have trouble standing.

Trump and Hillary Clinton have been under pressure to release medical records to show their fitness to run the White House.

Trump’s health summary was released a day after the release of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s second letter from her doctor after she suffered from a bout of pneumonia and almost fainted at a September 11 memorial event.

The Dr. Oz episode was taped Wednesday in front of a studio audience that clapped and cheered when Trump asked if he should share his medical records.

The revelations come after his own doctor Harold Bornstein described the candidate as: “the healthiest individual ever elected to presidency”. Lab testing (vitamin D, CBC, fasting blood glucose, comprehensive metabolic panel, hemoglobin A1-C, vitamin B-12) is “normal”, including cholesterol of 189, LDL of 103, HDL of 56 and triglycerides of 159.

He has liver and thyroid function tests within normal range. His EKG and chest X-ray on April 14, 2016 were normal. “He does not use tobacco products or alcohol”, Bornstein writes.

The notes from Trump’s physical state that he is is 6ft 3in and 236lbs, giving him a body mass of 29.5, which is overweight.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump surprised “The Dr. Oz Show” when he gave a two-page, general summary of his health and medical information after earlier refusal of doing it.

While Mr Trump was more liberal in his views on social issues when he was younger, he now opposes abortion rights.

Thursday’s letter doesn’t disclose any previous health conditions Trump has had, except that his only hospitalization was for a childhood appendectomy.

“Yeah, just about the same age as Ronald Reagan, and Hillary is a year behind me”, said Trump. “She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as president of the United States”, said Clinton’s personal physician Dr. Lisa Bardack in a letter. A clip of that radio interview was played on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday, and anchor Brian Kilmeade said Oz told him that Trump’s previously undisclosed records would be shared. Overall, however, according to audience members, Oz sounded impressed by Trump’s health at 70.
