TN couple who claims to have winning Powerball ticket on TODAY show
The Robinson’s winning Powerball ticket is one of three winning tickets in the $1.6 billion jackpot drawing held Wednesday.

The Robinsons appeared on national television earlier Friday to say they had won.
John Robinson fell asleep on the couch, but Lisa checked the numbers, saw the match.
John Robinson said he was nervous after revealing his identity on the “Today” show.

The Powerball jackpot now resets at $40 million.
On Wednesday night state lottery officials announced Naifeh’s sold Tennessee’s jackpot winning ticket, netting the grocery store a $25,000 prize as part of the designation. The 62-year-old registered nurse in California who thought she won after her boss gave her one of 180,000 tickets he purchased for all of his nursing-home employees and residents turned out to be a hoax. Her son pranked her.
Each of the winning tickets is worth US$528.8 million to the holders, lottery officials said in California, one of 44 states plus Washington, DC, and two USA territories that sold millions of Powerball tickets.
“Actually, (I was) a little scared because I didn’t know exactly what do to, ” John said Friday.
The California ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Chino Hills, California, lottery spokesman Alex Traverso told The Associated Press.
According to NBC, “the chances of winning were 1 in 292.2 million, and there were 635,103,137 total tickets sold”.
“Sallie Mae’s paid off”, she said, laughing.
The law in their state says that the victor must come in person with the ticket in hand along with the identification of the person who bought it. They said they planned to go back to Tennessee after appearing on the show.
John Robinson works in information technology and his wife is employed at a dermatologist’s office.
Many people were even buying lottery tickets, believing the shop will bring them good luck in the next draw.

The drawing late Wednesday for the $1.586 billion jackpot was the largest-ever lottery prize in North America. “You need to check these numbers, ‘” he said.
