TNT’s Craig Sager hangs tough in leukemia battle
Barkley’s visit was a reactionary move; according to the Associated Press, Stacy Sager, Craig Sager’s wife, contracted a bad enough cold to be told by doctors to keep her distance from her husband, as to not put his health at risk. In this case, Craig Sager is family to Charles Barkley and the rest of the Turner team, so it’s beyond ideal that Sir Charles was there for his brother.

A third bone marrow transplant is awfully rare and the odds for a happy ending aren’t great, but at least Sager knows he has both his family and a huge National Basketball Association family supporting him through his clash with leukemia.
After hearing the news that Stacy couldn’t stay, Charles Barkley hopped on a flight from Phoenix to Houston to spend time with his long-time friend and co-worker at TNT, Craig.
This week, Sager received a very rare third bone marrow transplant after finding a match in an anonymous 20-year old donor.
Barkley recently underwent hip-replacement surgery, his doctor giving him one clear restriction: no traveling. “When you go to try and cheer him up his attitude is so upbeat he cheers you up”.
Information from the Associated Press was used in this report. Sager underwent his third bone marrow transplant as he continues to battle Acute myeloid leukemia. Shortly after the procedure began, Sager said, “Okay, third time’s the charm”.
