Toby Alderweireld: opposition teams are scared of playing at White Hart Lane

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has hailed Tottenham Hotspur as the much better side after their 4-1 loss at White Hart Lane, according to reports from talkSPORT. West Ham come into this just five points off the top of the Premier League and will leapforg Spurs should they triumph in this one, so there is plenty of incentive for them as they aim to take their strong start into the winter months.

After Kane’s blistering left-foot strike on the turn, Toby Alderweireld escaped his marker to head home a second 10 minutes later before Kane struck again straight after the break. We need to congratulate first the player and then all the staff and also the president. Adrian twice thwarted substitute Ryan Mason, but he could do little to prevent Walker sweetly finishing a sweeping move to make it four.

Andy Carroll has scored in two of his three Premier League appearances for West Ham against Tottenham.

Nearly as soon as the teams returned for the second half, the game was out of sight for West Ham.

Toby Alderweireld has revealed that Tottenham’s players have been discussing the Paris attacks and subsequent security alerts across Europe as many attempt to cope with the impact it is having. But beyond the statistics, Tottenham played with an intensity and belief stemming from their young, English core of Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and Kane.

Ex-England C team striker Andre Gray levelled for the Clarets after just four minutes and that is how the game at Turf Moor remained.

“We have enough quality in our team to replace him and play better than this”, said Bilic, whose team sit one place behind Spurs in sixth.

“I think that all players are back from global duty in a very good condition”. It was good direct play from Heung-Min Son down the right flank and he played it inside to Delle Alli who squeezed it through to Kane, who brilliantly turned his man before firing into the roof of the net left footed. “Tottenham are a name at home and in Europe and now we need to be clever to improve”.

West Ham, who have already beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City on their travels this season, were rocked by the concession of the third early second half but did pull a goal back through Manuel Lanzini as he rifled a shot past Hugo Lloris at the near post in the 86th minute.

“No excuses, they were better”, he said. Congratulations to them. It was an incredible show and I feel very proud. A loose pass by James Tomkins was intercepted by Eriksen, who strode forward and slipped the ball to Kane, who was able to shoot from the area’s edge. He scored his first global goal in midweek and seems to go from strength to strength, running the midfield against the toughest of opposition and really making the most of the opportunity given to him by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
