Todd Bowles snaps at questioning as Jets pressure builds
But the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver might have reduced the Jets’ cornerback to mortal status. The fourth quarter would become a field goal fest, with the Jets starting it with a 20-yards, then the Bengals missing a 52-yard attempt, followed immediately by a Jets 23-yard field goal. Luck will also play an enormous role for both the Jets and Giants this season as both teams will be relying on players who are long in the tooth. Darrelle Revis leads the Jets with seven tackles, Leonard Williams has 2.5 sacks and Marcus Williams has one interception. Absolutely. Forte made his presence felt early and often, gaining over 150 yards from scrimmage.

But a collection of errors and miscues undid their good work, adding up to a loss. And it was even harder to take, because the mistakes were from players who are supposed to be reliable.
Wide receiver A.J. Green had 12 catches – on 13 targets – for 180 yards and one touchdown.
And sure enough, none of the plays the Jets called and ran, and eventually came up a yard or two short of getting a first down, were into the end zone.
“I can take a punch on my chin and keep it moving”, Revis said.
It was clear Revis couldn’t be left “on an island”, so to speak, against one of the game’s best receivers.
The offense looked good at times, racking up 340 total yards. According to Alex Kozora, the last time they did so was in 2008-when Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Jets’ quarterback, was under center. “We do have a lot of experience”. That was the poorest execution Ive ever seen on our side in the red zone since Ive been here..
The Jets drove to the Bengals 1 on their next possession, but stalled, leaving it to Folk to kick a 20-yard field goal to make it 20-19. “That can’t be us”. We play two games in four days, we don’t have time to sit there and go back.
3 or 4 man front? With Sheldon Richardson out last week against the Bengals, the Jets defense switched back and forth between a three and four-man front. Folk missed a PAT – his first miss after opening his career with 312 straight conversions – following New York’s second touchdown while another drive ended with Folk’s 22-yard field goal attempt being blocked.
Folk had set the National Football League record for most extra points without a miss with 322 overall, including the playoffs.
Right tackle rotationThe Jets are going with a platoon situation at right tackle, at least for now. They said they’ve been watching film of me all off-season.
It wasn’t the cleanest victory in Marvin Lewis’ tenure, but the Bengals beat a team that many feel is a playoff-caliber squad. If we make the extra point and the field goal, they need a touchdown at the end..
Buffalo beat NY twice last season, including in the season finale – which kept the Jets out of the playoffs.
Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan, who coached Revis from 2009 to 2012, laughed when asked if Revis has slipped.
“I told you, we’ve moved on to Buffalo”, said Bowles, responding to a question about Darrelle Revis’ subpar performance in the opener. He’s so confident, he’s having fun, he knows what we have to do, he knows what kind of offense we have to put in to go score. “We have to get back to work”.

On paper, Thursday’s game against the Bills is their easiest game in a brutal stretch to start the season. The Jets, who went 10-6 past year and are looking to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2010, fell to 26-30 all-time in openers. This was an opportunity to start strong against NFL’s best. And, it cost the Jets – and set the tone for an uncharacteristically long day for Revis.
