Todd Bowles wants Ryan Fitzpatrick back in ’16
The veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing well as of late, having thrown a total of six touchdowns in his past couple of contest, so the 33-year-old QB ll look to keep up that momentum in this Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans. But more importantly, the Jets have a shot at being playoff-bound for the first time in five years. “We’re not that good”.

“One of the best things with Chan and his system and really just the offense in general is that there’s not an ego, ” said Fitzpatrick, who has thrown for a career-high 25 touchdowns.
Head coach Todd Bowles already said he wants Fitzpatrick and his beard back next season. “We’re all in this thing together trying to win and we’ve all got that common goal”.
For the first time since 2011 the Jets have won three games in a row.
Whatever happened, the Jets benefited from Fitzpatrick and Marshall being keenly aware of their surroundings. He makes good decisions in the passing game, knows when to tuck it and run (like he did last week), and has a strong enough arm to extend the play and make throws outside the pocket.
-DE Muhammad Wilkerson had a monster day Sunday, when he collected a career-high three sacks in the Jets’ 30-8 win over the Titans.
It certainly looked like the Jets pulled a Jedi mind trick on the unsuspecting Titans when quarterback hit Marshall for the 69-yard strike that pushed the Jets ahead 27-0 with 1:35 remaining in the first half. “We were focused, we were locked in and we’ve got to continue to stay locked in throughout the rest of the season”.
The Jets expanded the lead to 13-0 early in the second quarter on a pair of field goals from kicker Randy Bullock.
Fitzpatrick capped a game-opening 80-yard drive by finding wide-open wide receiver Eric Decker (seven catches for 74 yards) in the end zone for a 16-yard touchdown pass.
The Jets extended the lead to 20-0 on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Fitzpatrick to Powell, who broke four tackles on his way to the end zone. The Titans and Mariota now take to the road to take on the 7-5 New York Jets, a team very much in the AFC Playoff hunt.
“The guy is fast”, said TE Delanie Walker, “I think he is just going to get better, especially next year when he is all settled in and understands the philosophy of the offense”.
Meanwhile, Mariota finished 21 of 39 for 274 yards and an interception for the Titans, who were looking to win consecutive games for the first time since the end of the 2013 season.
The Titans recorded the second of their four first-half first downs on the subsequent possession, but following a punt, Fitzpatrick caught the Titans napping with a quick snap and a quick pass to Marshall, who was uncovered in the flat.
“I got him this book for Christmas”, the Jets wide receiver said before grabbing a copy of former NY receiver Keyshawn Johnson’s “Just Give Me The Damn Ball!” autobiography. “We are definitely going to come back and work even harder and come ready to play next week”.
NOT-SO-MIGHTY TITANS: Tennessee dropped to 2-4 under interim coach Mike Mularkey, who took over for the fired Ken Whisenhunt.

The Titans, on the other hand, have lost most of their games this season. On the ground, however, they have been a staunch opponent allowing just 3 yards per carry over their last three. He gained 101 yards on 22 rushing attempts. If both teams win out, that would mean the next tie-breaking statistic would be the common game win-loss record, meaning the teams that both the Jets and the Steelers have played.
