He continued to text Abdulazeez that evening and into Thursday but did not get a reply.

A police officer ducks under tape near a memorial in front of an Armed Forces Career Center on Thursday, July 16, 2015, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Two of the wounded survived the attack.
Skip Wells hailed from Marietta, Ga.
But CNN law enforcement analyst Tom Fuentes said depression doesn’t necessarily make anyone more likely to kill. We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
Mr Ali and Mrs Brewer were among more than 1,000 people who attended a memorial service at a Baptist church for the victims.
Authorities had not determined a motive for the attack that has now claimed the lives of f0ur Marines and a Naval officer, but a text message Abdulazeez sent to a friend before the rampage was being investigated.
There was evidence, however, that he came from a troubled family.
It doesn’t appear that the weapons were purchased recently, the law enforcement official said.
The 26-year-old is the fifth victim in the shooting.
Abdulazeez received an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 and worked as an intern a few years ago at the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Authorities identified the suspect as 24-year-old Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez.
Investigators say Abdulazeez was carrying two long guns and a pistol.
An officer also noted that Abdulazeez had irritated nostrils and a white, powdery substance under his nose. They were Lance Cpl.
The sailor’s death comes in addition to the four U.S. Marines killed at the scene. He did his best to spread hatred and division.
Some “lone wolf” attacks have been carried out by people who had no direct contact with extremist groups, but were influenced by messages online, like those from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria urging Muslims to take up arms and attack USA military sites.
There is nothing connecting the attacker to ISIS or other worldwide terror groups, said Ed Reinhold, special agent in charge of the regional FBI office. When I love him, I shall be his hearing with which he shall hear, his sight with which he shall see, his hands with which he shall hold, and his feet with which he shall walk. One neighbour recalled Abdulazeez giving him a ride home when he was stranded in a snowstorm. He joined the Navy after a shoulder injury prematurely halted college baseball aspirations, according to The Associated Press.
“After the recent shooting in Chattanooga, it has become clear that our military personnel must have the ability to defend themselves against these type of attacks on our own soil”, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said. “Arming the National Guard at these bases will not only serve as a deterrent to anyone wishing to do harm to our servicemen and women, but will enable them to protect those living and working on the base”.
In Tennessee, where the shooting occurred, Gov. Bill Haslam has called for a review of security policies and procedures at National Guard armories and other military installations in the state.
