Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, said on Friday it was a “personal decision” not to pursue a legal challenge to his four-game Deflategate suspension.

“I think it’ll be common for Sean [Payton] and I to have a conversation and say “Hey, are you guys ready for this?”, and if the answer from either one of us is “No, we’re not, let’s hold off on that”, then we’ll hold off on that and do something else”.

Brady will be replaced by backup Jimmy Garoppolo for the first four games of the season.
Asked how hard he expected it would be for him to serve a four-game suspension to open the season, Brady said: “I’ve tried to be as positive as I can be”.
