Tom Brady Calls Coca-Cola “Poison for Kids”, Slams Frosted Flakes

The New England Patriots quarterback defended longtime trainer and friend Alex Guerrero in a Monday interview after he came under fire for lying about being a doctor and claiming his products could cure cancer.

Cereal company Kellogg’s, which sells the popular cereal that is marketed to kids, said in response “a serving of Frosted Flakes with skim milk has just 150 calories and delivers valuable nutrients including calcium, B vitamins and iron”, Fox Business reported. “Willie McGinest used to call him ‘Doc.’ That’s how I first initially got to know him”.

“That was part of his past when I met him”. Normally, it’s great to hear that an athlete adheres so strongly to a routine that keeps him healthy, in shape and on the field.

‘Nutritional supplements and FTC regulations and all those types of things, there are a lot of grey areas in that… It’s not waiting to get sick. Brady stressed that when it comes to health and longevity, however, it’s important to think outside the box and that lifestyle choices are essential to wellness. Because they pay lots of money for advertisements… “They have lots of money to advertise, you know?” No, I totally disagree with that. “I don’t know the details of each of those incidences, but I think that it speaks to he as a person, as a friend”. And the fact that they can sell that to kids? And obviously you guys may not have a comment on that because maybe that’s what your belief system is.

He just might want to watch his back. No, he does not think they’re “grrreat!”

“I think we’ve been lied to by a lot of food companies over the years, by a lot of beverage companies over the years”. That’s what we’ve been conditioned to.

A run-of-the-mill post-game radio interview with Tom Brady ended up being a lot more than that, when the Patriots quarterback took a swing at the processed food industry – calling out Coca-Cola and Frosted Flakes, specifically. So like I said, that’s the education we get; that’s what we get brainwashed to believe, that all these things are just normal food groups and this is what you should eat. “I take different supplements to try to help my body recover from the vigors of the training that we do”. “Which does reduce inflammation in my body, and when you’re running around and taking hits, that’s a really positive thing for me”.

“I didn’t read the whole story, I didn’t read the whole transcript (of the FTC testimony)”, Brady said. So many of these things, I just shake my head and I go, ‘I can’t believe this still happens in today’s day and age.’ That’s why I started TB12 [Sports Therapy Center].

Tell that to the Patriots, who listed Brady as questionable or probable with shoulder, finger, rib and foot problems for two straight entire seasons in 2009 and 2010. I had doctors with the highest and best education in our country tell me I wouldn’t be able to play football again, that I would need multiple surgeries on my knee from my staph infection, that I would need a new ACL, a new MCL, that I wouldn’t be able to play with my kids when I’m older. But he chose to follow Guerrero’s alternative approach and it worked: The following year he won Comeback Player of the Year and the next year was named the MVP. It puts Guerrero in a precarious position, as he’s been completely disaccredited medically — but since he’s entangled with Brady’s Super Bowl successes, he’s got a real platform to bring his work to other athletes.
