Tom Brady Declining in 2015?

Tom Brady did not participate in practice Tuesday and is expected to be absent from the New England Patriots’ facility again Wednesday in order to attend the latest round of courtroom negotations with the NFL over his four-game suspension.

According to reporters in Foxborough, however, Brady is absent from practice on Tuesday and Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that Brady plans to be in Manhattan for the conference even though his attendance isn’t mandatory. Judge Richard Berman reportedly told both Brady and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that they were not required to attend the Aug. 19 court date for settlement talks between the NFL and NFLPA, but it’s possible that both men could choose to attend of their own volition.

Brady and Goodell met last Wednesday in New York for a settlement conference that included one period open to the public followed by a session during which the sides remained behind doors while attempting to find common ground.

Brady is seeking to overturn the suspension for his role in the use of deflated footballs in the AFC Championship Game.

Tune in to Patriots-Saints on Saturday night on 98.5 The Sports Hub and WBZ-TV, the flagship stations of the New England Patriots. That would allow Brady to play in Week 1 if the punishment is wiped out.
