It’s incredible it took this long, but there’s finally a Massachusetts school named after Tom Brady.

“They wanted to do something creative and fun”, Mazza says, as students met with him about the potential name change.

Not only were the students all fired up over attending Tom Brady Middle School, but the dress code of the day was strictly New England Patriots gear, with more than a few Tom Brady jerseys.

The students and staff dressed in a sea of red, white and blue in honor of the event. See what they say.

An assembly was held in the morning to celebrate the one-day renaming of the school, an idea that students and Principal Tom Mazza came up with. A flag football game was scheduled for the afternoon.

One Springfield school celebrated its new name Thursday. Governor Charlie Baker declared September 3 “Tom Brady Day” while he was in Springfield at a groundbreaking ceremony for CRRC’s railroad auto plant.
