Tom Brady staying in football shape by playing catch with Wes Welker
Brady has plans for Saturday night, but he proposed putting Welker to work instead.

Welker, who now lives in South Florida, told 560 WQAM in Miami he is attending the Patriots home game vs. the Dolphins this weekend. “I’m sitting there trying to have dinner, and ‘Hey, get your ass up here and let’s go throw!’ I’m like ‘Geez, man, he’s going to be running like two-minute drills in his backyard or something'”.
As part of his suspension, Brady is prohibited from engaging in any football-related activities or discussions with current teammates at or away from the Patriots’ facilities, which even includes working out or playing catch.
You’re right, I don’t want to get very political with that! Welker initially called Brady to see if he wanted to meet up for dinner Saturday night.
This exile has to be driving Brady insane.
Of course, Brady is looking to find every way possible to stay in shape for his eventual return to the Patriots in a few more weeks. He probably runs the whip route a little crisper than Gisele or Brady’s kids.
“It’s just amusing. I’m sitting there trying to have dinner”.
I’m sure you’re not going to get too political here, but what do you think about the protests going on with the anthem?
“That’s the only thing we really have planned”, he added.
Welker and Brady were teammates for six seasons (2007-2012) in New England and had a great rapport with each other.
Brady gave a fairly guarded answer, but confirmed that he will be standing when he presumably makes it back to the field for Week 5, when his Pats head to Cleveland on October 9.
